After many of months of leg pains, in May of 2015, our youngest son, Jeremy (10), was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). He was immediately admitted into the hospital, had a bone marrow biopsy, and started chemotherapy. He endured many months of intense treatments that left him very tired and with no immune system. He started his 5th grade year at home with an online public school. He was finally able to head back into the classroom in April of 2016 and enjoyed the last two months of the school year as a normal kid with his friends. Shortly after this, he was declared cancer-free by his team of doctors!

However, the treatments of Leukemia will continue until the spring of 2019 to make sure any dormant Leukemia cells will be killed off with the small dose chemotherapy still going through his body.

Throughout our journey, friends and family were so good to us.  We were blessed with dinners, gift cards, gift baskets, carpools for our other kids, and many prayers.  Now it's our turn to GIVE BACK!

In June 2016, we decided to do a fundraiser for the patients of the Children's Specialty Center where Jeremy is a patient.  We asked friends and family to donate money to sponsor a child.  The money would purchase a thermal lunch box that we then stuffed with snacks, toys, school supplies, and more.  Our goal was 100 sponsors and instead we got 176 sponsors and were able to deliver 213 thermal lunch boxes to the clinic.  We had the pleasure of handing out thermals to the patients that were there, and the smiles on their faces was priceless!  It was such a huge success that we decided that we needed to continue the momentum to continue putting smiles on children's faces!

Our back story

Why did we start this foundation?

Each thermal is stuffed with a variety of small gifts. Items we try to include in each thermals are: playing cards, Legos, manicure kits for girls, pens and pencils, balls, puzzle/activity books, stuffed animals, small games, and dry erase boards. We also have a variety of other things that we use to the fill the thermals to the brim!

The goal of our foundation is to help put a smile on a child's face while they are at the hospital or at their clinic receiving treatments. These kids are being poked with needles, having chemotherapy and other drugs injected into their bodies, and just not feeling well.  We would like to give them a little something to take their minds off of the bad part of their day and be able to focus on the good part of the day.  We fill thermal lunch boxes with toys and games and then we deliver them to the hospitals and clinics.
